Front Rim Brake
The weave of our front wheel's rim brake tracks is 3K interwoven. Grooves are laser-edged. The resin rating is 230+ °C (Tg).
Rear Disc Brake
Given the lack of a rear caliper mount, rear wheel rim brake setups are not supported. The rear wheel has to use a disc brake.
Rear Thru Axle
Given the rear triangle's drive-side UDH Full Mount dropout, the rear wheel always needs to be 12x142 mm thru axle.
Cassette Hub Body
Pull-off, star ratchet freehub body, which allows tool-free removal of hub body by hand, while cassette remains installed.
End Caps
This wheel set uses press-fit/push-In end caps, which can be removed by hand (tool-free) for easy conversion or replacement.
.
Bearings
ABEC-3 chromium steel enduro bearings (sizes: 6802 and 15267) with extra LLU/LLB weather sealing.
For all Moalani Strato/Dura model tiers, recommended defaults are: no front wheel rim brake track, SRAM XDR hub, Centerlock (front/rear), UD Matte.
For the Moalani Pura: front wheel rim brake track, SRAM XDR hub, Centerlock (rear only), UD Matte.

Front: QR
For the front wheel, a quick release skewer might make sense, in order to quickly remove the wheel while packing or folding into a trunk.
Front: Thru Axle
To ensure a tool-free experience, for front thru axle setups, a thru axle with a retractable quick release lever can be very helpful.
Bladed Rear Wheel
Only tri-spoke bladed rear wheels are supported. Spoked rear wheels will prevent folding of the rear triangle into the main frame.
451 vs. 406
406 wheels are possible (up to 37x406 tires), but have not been tested. They also won't deliver the same performance.
Outer Rim Width
Given our dual truss top and down tubes' inner spacing of 30 mm, the maximum supported outer rim width is 26 mm.
74 mm O.L.D.
74 mm O.L.D. rim brake-only front wheels (and forks) are possible, but have not been tested.
